Pile Foundation
Bored Cast-in-Situ Piling Specialists
Jalmala Boring Works provides Pile Foundation and Deep Foundation Solutions using Bored Cast-in-Situ Piles for residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. With advanced Hydraulic Rotary Rigs, we construct piles from 300 mm to 1800 mm diameter and depths of up to 50 metres, delivering reliable load-bearing capacity across soft soil, hard rock, and high groundwater conditions.

Our Piling Methods
We deploy six proven techniques — selected based on soil profile, site constraints, and project requirements.

We specialize in bored piling with diameters ranging from 200 mm to 2000 mm and depths up to 50 meters. Using advanced hydraulic rotary rigs, we execute piling operations efficiently across a wide range of soil conditions. Our fleet includes high-performance rotary drilling rigs capable of working in restricted headroom areas while delivering precision, stability, and high productivity.

Secant pile walls are constructed by intersecting reinforced concrete piles to form a continuous retaining structure. Primary piles are installed first, followed by reinforced secondary piles after sufficient curing. This technique provides excellent groundwater control and soil retention, making it ideal for deep excavations, basements, and foundation support in challenging ground conditions.

The Manual Auger Method is a reliable piling technique suitable for locations with restricted access or where low noise and vibration are essential. A tripod and manual winch system are used to drill boreholes using a helical auger. This method is commonly employed for pile diameters ranging from 250 mm to 1000 mm and offers an economical solution for smaller foundation projects.

Our Truck Mounted Rotary (TMR) rigs utilize continuous bentonite slurry circulation to stabilize boreholes during drilling. Auger drilling is performed to the required depth while bentonite slurry supports the excavation and carries excavated soil back to a recycling tank. This method ensures bore stability, efficient spoil removal, and high productivity, particularly in loose or soft soil strata.

The DMC Pile Method employs Mendola-type rigs combined with bentonite drilling fluid for safe and efficient pile construction. Surface soil is loosened using a bailer before drilling continues with a percussion chisel. Bentonite slurry stabilizes the bore while transporting excavated material to settling pits. Once the desired depth is achieved, the drilling tools are removed and the final depth is verified before reinforcement and concreting.

This method utilizes tractor-mounted rotary drilling rigs for fast and economical pile boring. Auger drilling is carried out to the required depth, with DMC rods added progressively to achieve deeper penetration through varying soil strata. It is particularly suitable for medium-depth foundation works and offers drilling capacities of up to 16 meters with excellent operational efficiency.

High-Rise & Commercial Pile Foundation Contractor in Ahmedabad
High-rise pile foundation is not a scaled-up version of low-rise piling. A G+25 tower on SG Highway demands a fundamentally different approach from a G+3 apartment in Maninagar — different pile depths, different load capacities, different settlement criteria, and different testing protocols. If you are a developer, architect, or structural consultant building high-rise in Ahmedabad, you need a pile foundation contractor who understands the technical and coordination demands of tall buildings — not a general piling contractor. This page is for that audience.
What Makes High-Rise Piling Different in Ahmedabad
High-rise piling in Ahmedabad differs from other building piling in four critical ways. First, pile diameter and depth: high-rises typically require 600–1,200 mm diameter piles at 20–35 meter depths, versus 400–600 mm shallow piles for low-rise construction. Second, load capacity: each pile must carry 200–800 tonnes versus 50–150 tonnes for low-rise. Third, settlement control: differential settlement of 25 mm or less is critical for tall towers — a requirement that changes pile design, testing, and installation tolerances. Fourth, load testing: high-rise projects in Ahmedabad typically require 100% of piles to undergo some form of verification (PIT or static load test), compared to sample testing on low-rise. Our high-rise pile foundation team in Ahmedabad has executed dozens of G+15 to G+30 towers with these requirements.
Design Coordination with Architects and Structural Consultants
High-rise piling is not a stand-alone activity — it sits at the intersection of architectural, structural, and geotechnical disciplines. Jalmala Boring Works participates in all three coordination stages that high-rise piling demands. Pre-design coordination involves reviewing pile layout against architectural footprint and structural grid, planning tower crane foundations and material storage areas, and confirming access for rigs within the site constraints. Design-stage coordination involves verifying pile diameter, depth, and capacity against the geotechnical report, structural loads, and settlement criteria — often flagging design issues before execution. Pre-construction coordination involves constructability review of piling sequence, basement integration, and dewatering requirements. Structural consultants and developers who have worked with us on multiple towers consistently cite this coordination quality as the reason they return.
Tower Crane Foundation Integration
Tower crane foundations are temporary structures that must be planned in coordination with high-rise pile layout. The crane foundation typically occupies a specific location on the site — often near the building core — and must not interfere with permanent pile positions or basement layout. Jalmala Boring Works coordinates with the structural consultant and crane supplier to identify the optimal crane position relative to the pile grid, design the crane foundation (typically a raft or individual pile) to accommodate wind and operational loads, schedule crane foundation construction so it does not delay main piling, and plan crane dismantling and foundation removal as part of the overall project sequence. This integration matters because a poorly planned tower crane foundation can delay the entire piling program by 2–4 weeks.
High-Rise Soil Challenges in Ahmedabad's Major Corridors
Ahmedabad's high-rise corridors present distinct soil profiles. SG Highway has black cotton soil over mixed strata, with rock often encountered at depth — requiring rock-socketed piles on some towers. Prahladnagar and Science City have similar profiles with variable water tables depending on season. GIFT City has deep alluvial deposits requiring 25–40 meter piles and diaphragm walls for basement integration. Our high-rise piling expertise in Ahmedabad includes black cotton soil handling, rock-socketed pile techniques, and the seasonal water table variation management that these corridors require.
Testing Protocols for High-Rise Safety
High-rise load testing in Ahmedabad follows three protocols. Static load tests per IS 2911 Part 4 are performed on 1% of piles or a minimum of one pile per project, loaded to 2.5× design load with 24-hour hold — the gold standard for verifying pile capacity. Pile Integrity Tests (PIT) are performed on 100% of piles using low-strain sonic testing to detect necking, bulging, or contamination — catching issues that static tests miss on the other 99% of piles. Pile Dynamic Analysis (PDA) is performed on sample piles for high-strain stress wave measurement during driving or restrike. GIFT City and SG Highway high-rise projects typically require the strictest testing regime. We provide complete testing documentation — load-displacement curves, PIT signatures, and acceptance certificates — as part of the standard handover package.
Typical High-Rise Piling Timeline
A G+15 to G+25 residential tower in Ahmedabad typically requires 120–200 piles of 600–900 mm diameter at 20–30 meter depths. Typical high-rise piling timeline in Ahmedabad: 10–15 days mobilization, 40–60 working days of active piling (2–3 piles per rig per day), 7–28 days for load test results, and 5–10 working days for final documentation. Total from award to handover is typically 8–12 weeks. Larger commercial towers (G+25 to G+30) can take 10–14 weeks due to increased pile count and stricter testing requirements. Timelines for GIFT City projects typically extend by 2–3 weeks due to permit coordination with the GIFT City Development Authority.
