How We Work

Our Piling Methods

We deploy six proven techniques — selected based on soil profile, site constraints, and project requirements.

Hydraulic Rig
01
Hydraulic Rig

We specialize in bored piling with diameters ranging from 200 mm to 2000 mm and depths up to 50 meters. Using advanced hydraulic rotary rigs, we execute piling operations efficiently across a wide range of soil conditions. Our fleet includes high-performance rotary drilling rigs capable of working in restricted headroom areas while delivering precision, stability, and high productivity.

Secant Pile Walls
02
Secant Pile Walls

Secant pile walls are constructed by intersecting reinforced concrete piles to form a continuous retaining structure. Primary piles are installed first, followed by reinforced secondary piles after sufficient curing. This technique provides excellent groundwater control and soil retention, making it ideal for deep excavations, basements, and foundation support in challenging ground conditions.

Manual Auger Method
03
Manual Auger Method

The Manual Auger Method is a reliable piling technique suitable for locations with restricted access or where low noise and vibration are essential. A tripod and manual winch system are used to drill boreholes using a helical auger. This method is commonly employed for pile diameters ranging from 250 mm to 1000 mm and offers an economical solution for smaller foundation projects.

TMR — Water Circulation
04
TMR — Water Circulation

Our Truck Mounted Rotary (TMR) rigs utilize continuous bentonite slurry circulation to stabilize boreholes during drilling. Auger drilling is performed to the required depth while bentonite slurry supports the excavation and carries excavated soil back to a recycling tank. This method ensures bore stability, efficient spoil removal, and high productivity, particularly in loose or soft soil strata.

DMC Pile Method
05
DMC Pile Method

The DMC Pile Method employs Mendola-type rigs combined with bentonite drilling fluid for safe and efficient pile construction. Surface soil is loosened using a bailer before drilling continues with a percussion chisel. Bentonite slurry stabilizes the bore while transporting excavated material to settling pits. Once the desired depth is achieved, the drilling tools are removed and the final depth is verified before reinforcement and concreting.

Tractor Mounted Rotary Rig
06
Tractor Mounted Rotary Rig

This method utilizes tractor-mounted rotary drilling rigs for fast and economical pile boring. Auger drilling is carried out to the required depth, with DMC rods added progressively to achieve deeper penetration through varying soil strata. It is particularly suitable for medium-depth foundation works and offers drilling capacities of up to 16 meters with excellent operational efficiency.

Pile Foundation Contractor Bharuch – Retrofit & Brownfield Piling for Ankleshwar's Aging Chemical Plants

Most piling contractors in Bharuch are built for new-build projects — greenfield sites, empty plots, and clean installation. But half of the piling work in Ankleshwar GIDC is not new-build. It is retrofit and brownfield — adding piles to operating chemical plants, repairing corrosion-damaged foundations, extending existing piles for capacity upgrades, and executing all of it during short shutdown windows. This is a fundamentally different discipline from new-build piling, and it requires contractors who understand permit-to-work systems, gas testing, hot-work isolation, and the operational constraints of running chemical plants. This page is for the plant engineers, brownfield project managers, and reliability teams facing this kind of work.

Brownfield Capacity Expansion — Adding Piles to Operating Plants

Ankleshwar GIDC's chemical plants are constantly expanding — adding reactors, storage tanks, utilities, and process equipment. Each addition requires new piles within an operating plant, which is technically and logistically complex. The challenges: existing underground utilities and pipelines, adjacent operating equipment sensitive to vibration, limited access for rig mobilization, and the need to preserve plant safety systems during work. Our brownfield expansion piling in Bharuch includes site-specific work method statements, utility clearance protocols, and staged mobilization that keeps plant operations running.

Pile Jacketing — Repairing 30-40 Year Old Corroded Piles

Ankleshwar's chemical plants were largely built in the 1970s and 1980s — 30-40 years of exposure to sulfates, chlorides, and organic chemicals has left many pile foundations damaged. Pile jacketing is the most common rehabilitation method: encasing the existing pile in a new reinforced concrete layer (75-150 mm) that restores structural capacity and provides new corrosion protection. The process: excavate around the pile to expose damaged concrete, chip to sound material, treat or replace corroded reinforcement, install new reinforcement cage, and cast new concrete with sulfate-resisting cement or epoxy-coated rebar. Our pile jacketing services in Bharuch typically complete during 2-3 weekend shutdowns per pile, minimizing production disruption.

Underpinning — Strengthening Foundations Under Equipment

When equipment is relocated within a plant, or when adjacent excavation threatens an existing foundation, underpinning may be required. Underpinning strengthens or deepens an existing foundation without demolishing the structure above. Common scenarios in Bharuch: relocating a reactor and needing deeper foundations at the new location, adding load to existing foundations during brownfield upgrades, or protecting existing piles during adjacent deep excavation. Underpinning is technically demanding — it requires temporary support systems, careful sequencing, and continuous settlement monitoring. Our underpinning services in Bharuch include temporary support design and coordination with plant operations.

Pile Extension — Upward and Downward

Pile extension is used in two scenarios. Upward extension — when a new structure is built above an existing pile cap, the piles need to be extended upward to connect with the new superstructure. This involves chipping the pile head to sound concrete, lapping new reinforcement into existing, and casting new pile top. Upward extension is relatively straightforward and can be done during normal plant operations (with appropriate isolation). Downward extension — when the new loads require capacity that the existing pile cannot provide, the pile is extended downward by drilling through the existing pile and installing a new pile below it. Downward extension is technically complex but preserves the original foundation and avoids replacement.

Shutdown-Window Execution — The Operational Discipline

Most retrofit piling work in Bharuch happens during planned shutdown windows — typically 7-14 day turnarounds when the plant is offline. Execution during these windows requires: rapid mobilization (rigs on-site within 24 hours of window start), permit-to-work compliance (isolation procedures, gas testing, hot-work permits), coordination with parallel work fronts (other contractors also working during the window), 24-hour shift coverage where needed, and documented handover at window end (partial completion reports, next-window plan). Jalmala Boring Works maintains dedicated rapid-mobilization crews for Bharuch shut-down work — this is not a service we subcontract, it is a capability we have built.

Existing Pile Assessment — Repair vs Replacement Decision

Before any retrofit piling project, the existing pile condition must be assessed. Our assessment protocol: (1) visual inspection after pile head excavation — checking for cracking, spalling, exposed reinforcement, or discoloration; (2) non-destructive testing (PIT, sonic logging) — detecting internal anomalies; (3) concrete core extraction — testing compressive strength, chloride content, sulfate content, carbonation depth; (4) structural capacity calculation — determining remaining load capacity based on measured properties. The decision between repair (jacketing, underpinning) and replacement depends on remaining capacity, corrosion extent, and structural importance. This assessment is included as part of every retrofit piling project.
