Pile Foundation
Bored Cast-in-Situ Piling Specialists
Jalmala Boring Works provides Pile Foundation and Deep Foundation Solutions using Bored Cast-in-Situ Piles for residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. With advanced Hydraulic Rotary Rigs, we construct piles from 300 mm to 1800 mm diameter and depths of up to 50 metres, delivering reliable load-bearing capacity across soft soil, hard rock, and high groundwater conditions.

Our Piling Methods
We deploy six proven techniques — selected based on soil profile, site constraints, and project requirements.

We specialize in bored piling with diameters ranging from 200 mm to 2000 mm and depths up to 50 meters. Using advanced hydraulic rotary rigs, we execute piling operations efficiently across a wide range of soil conditions. Our fleet includes high-performance rotary drilling rigs capable of working in restricted headroom areas while delivering precision, stability, and high productivity.

Secant pile walls are constructed by intersecting reinforced concrete piles to form a continuous retaining structure. Primary piles are installed first, followed by reinforced secondary piles after sufficient curing. This technique provides excellent groundwater control and soil retention, making it ideal for deep excavations, basements, and foundation support in challenging ground conditions.

The Manual Auger Method is a reliable piling technique suitable for locations with restricted access or where low noise and vibration are essential. A tripod and manual winch system are used to drill boreholes using a helical auger. This method is commonly employed for pile diameters ranging from 250 mm to 1000 mm and offers an economical solution for smaller foundation projects.

Our Truck Mounted Rotary (TMR) rigs utilize continuous bentonite slurry circulation to stabilize boreholes during drilling. Auger drilling is performed to the required depth while bentonite slurry supports the excavation and carries excavated soil back to a recycling tank. This method ensures bore stability, efficient spoil removal, and high productivity, particularly in loose or soft soil strata.

The DMC Pile Method employs Mendola-type rigs combined with bentonite drilling fluid for safe and efficient pile construction. Surface soil is loosened using a bailer before drilling continues with a percussion chisel. Bentonite slurry stabilizes the bore while transporting excavated material to settling pits. Once the desired depth is achieved, the drilling tools are removed and the final depth is verified before reinforcement and concreting.

This method utilizes tractor-mounted rotary drilling rigs for fast and economical pile boring. Auger drilling is carried out to the required depth, with DMC rods added progressively to achieve deeper penetration through varying soil strata. It is particularly suitable for medium-depth foundation works and offers drilling capacities of up to 16 meters with excellent operational efficiency.

Pile Foundation Services in Mundra – Seismic Zone V, Adani Port & Thermal Power Expertise
Mundra is fundamentally different from every other city in your piling portfolio. It is India's largest private port (Adani Port Mundra, ~400 MMT cargo capacity), hosts one of India's largest coal-fired thermal plants (Adani Power Mundra, 4,620 MW), contains India's first multi-product SEZ (Mundra SEZ), and sits in Seismic Zone V — India's highest seismic hazard classification, not present anywhere else on your Gujarat pages. Combine that with Kutch's extreme saline soil (India's most aggressive — historic Rann salt marsh, Gulf of Kutch saltwater intrusion, groundwater chlorides 3,000-8,000 mg/L) and the port/marine + onshore industrial duality, and Mundra requires piling expertise that no other Gujarat city does. If you are looking for pile foundation services in Mundra, you need a contractor who understands these combined conditions. Jalmala Boring Works brings 60+ years of deep foundation expertise to every Mundra pile foundation project we take on.
Seismic Zone V – India's Highest Seismic Hazard Classification
Kutch — where Mundra is located — is in Seismic Zone V, India's highest seismic hazard classification per IS 1893. The classification reflects the region's earthquake history, most notably the 2001 Bhuj earthquake (Mw 7.7), which caused widespread damage across Kutch. For piling, Zone V means: lateral seismic loads 100-200% higher than Zone III cities (Ankleshwar, Vapi, Surat) and 3-5× higher than Zone II cities (Ahmedabad, Bharuch); mandatory ductile detailing per IS 13920 for all reinforced concrete pile sections; higher minimum pile reinforcement ratios; mandatory lateral load testing per IS 2911 Part 4; and longer pile socket/friction requirements to resist lateral displacement. Contractors without Zone V experience often under-reinforce piles, creating long-term seismic risk that may not surface for decades — until an earthquake. Our Seismic Zone V piling in Mundra is designed to IS 1893 and IS 13920 from the ground up.
Extreme Saline Soil – India's Most Aggressive Environment
Kutch's saline soil is the most aggressive in India — a combination of historic Rann salt marsh, Gulf of Kutch saltwater intrusion, and very high groundwater chlorides (3,000-8,000 mg/L versus 200-500 mg/L for normal inland sites). This requires concrete specifications at the "very severe" to "extreme" IS 456 exposure classifications — beyond even Vapi's coastal conditions. Required specifications: Portland slag cement (PSC with 60-70% slag) or sulfate-resisting cement (SRC); 100 mm minimum cover in tidal/splash zones, 75 mm in buried zones; concrete grade M40+; epoxy-coated or stainless steel rebar in tidal zones; silica fume or specialized marine admixtures; and often cathodic protection for critical infrastructure like coal berths. Without these specifications, piles in Mundra's saline soil can deteriorate within 10-15 years — a quarter of the intended 50-year design life. Our Kutch saline soil piling in Mundra is specified to these extreme requirements.
Adani Port Mundra – India's Largest Private Port
Adani Port Mundra is India's largest private port with ~400 MMT cargo capacity, hosting coal terminals, container terminals, liquid terminals, single point moorings (SPM), and coal conveyor systems that run on elevated structures over the water. Marine piling at Mundra Port requires: Gulf of Kutch marine conditions (different sediment profile than Gulf of Khambhat — 5-10 meters soft clay/silt over denser sand and rock); 6-8 meter tidal range requiring tidal-window construction; cyclone-resistant design (Kutch coast is cyclone-prone, requiring wind and wave loads beyond inland requirements); continuous support for coal conveyors that run for hundreds of meters along the port; and SPM piling for single point mooring systems that load crude oil from tankers. Our Adani Port Mundra marine piling is calibrated to these specific port conditions.
Adani Power Mundra – 4,620 MW Thermal Plant Piling
Adani Power Mundra is one of India's largest coal-fired thermal power plants (4,620 MW). Thermal plant piling differs from other industrial piling in four ways. Turbine generator foundations require extremely rigid, low-settlement pile groups — typically <5 mm differential settlement across the turbine base. Boiler support structures require high-capacity piles for the boiler steel frame loads (often 500-1,000 tonnes per column). Cooling towers require 300-500 piles per tower with uniform settlement control. Chimney foundations for 200-275 meter tall reinforced concrete chimneys require circular pile group layouts with extremely tight settlement tolerances. All of this is amplified by Seismic Zone V design requirements. Our Adani Power Mundra thermal plant piling covers the full range of thermal plant structures.
Mundra SEZ – India's First Multi-Product SEZ
Mundra SEZ is India's first multi-product Special Economic Zone, hosting chemical, logistics, warehousing, cold chain, and supporting industry units that serve the port and power plant ecosystem. SEZ industrial piling requires the same Seismic Zone V and extreme saline soil specifications as other Mundra projects, plus SEZ-specific approvals. Our Mundra SEZ industrial piling handles both the technical requirements and SEZ permit coordination.
